Shibari Scene Roles

Shibari Scene Roles

The dominance and submission is a negotiated relationship where each person takes a role: these are shibari scene roles. Typically, one is the dominant, the person who is the leader, makes decisions, and drives the force. Complementarily, the other person takes the role of the submissive, the one who obeys.

Why they do this, you ask? Well, the reason one has a desire to rule and lead, while the other wishes to obey and follow directions. Some might only want to change roles for the scene since because, in real life, they have the opposite roles. Others might just want to experience giving directions to someone or obeying someone. Every head has is a world. There could be a thousand reasons why to have dominant and submissive roles.

Shibari Scene Roles: a Shared Responsibility

In every BDSM scene, both roles are important. Particularly in a shibari scene, the dominant is the rigger and the submissive the top-bottom. The rigger really needs to be a good reader of expressions, behavior and desire. It is a very peculiar ability: they have to do this without having the submissive partner to expressly communicate. In addition, the top-bottom is responsible for making sure the rigger reads them.

Communication is crucial in shibari: both roles must recognize if something is going wrong to prevent any injury. However, being dominant is not necessarily holding the responsibility of everything in the dynamic. Relationships work best when both parties take responsibility for their success and both contribute to the session.

An Unspoken Language

The submissive needs to express how they are feeling or if something is going right or wrong without speaking. These people convey what they are feeling only with body language. Dominance and submission can be, in its own way, a unique love tongue. The feeling for each other is expressed through acts of dominance. Moreover, and even more importantly, the feeling shows through the levels of trust in one another.

Shibari is a great way to enjoy your dominant and submissive roles. The confidence and trust you experience with your partner, whenever you involve a rope, is of the great sensations you will experience. It will not matter if you are the rigger or the top-bottom.
