Shibari Model
So, you want to be a Shibari model. Well, first of all, you should know that it is actually a very good idea. You can do something artistic and earn some good money for it. On the other hand, however, there are certain special requirements that other kinds of models don’t need to fulfill.
First of all, you must be in good shape. This doesn’t mean that you have to spend hours in the gym every day. But you should have good blood circulation, no balance problems, and a high degree of flexibility. Remember that bondage submits the body to a special effort.
Secondly, you must be a really patient person. Shibari scenes take hours, literally. So, if you’re the kind of people that gets restless after fifteen minutes of staying quite, Shibari is not for you.
It might sound obvious, but you should not be a claustrophobic person. If you can’t stand restraint, then you can’t practice Shibari. In a similar vein, suspensions are very common in Shibari, so you should be ok with the fact of a rigger lifting you above the ground.
Your skin should not be too sensitive. Otherwise, rope might hurt you. Most of the bondage community appreciates friction marks. But no one wants to see you getting hurt.
Many riggers asks for their bottoms to be naked or scantily dress. If you don’t feel comfortable in the nude, or if pictures of you barely dressed rolling around the Internet might result embarrassing, you should try other kinds of modelling.
Finally, and very important, you should be kink. There’s nothing wrong with vanilla. However, if you want to be a Shibari model, you should, at least, feel curiosity about kink. Ideally, of course, you should be a kink enthusiast. So, be honest and ask yourself if there are reasons other than the money why you want to a be a Shibari model.
