Andrea Ropes

Andrea Ropes is a performer and an international Shibari teacher. He was born in Modena, Italy, and began his journey on ropes in 2006.

Andrea began his studies of Shibari by learning various techniques and styles that characterize Shibari, where he first started with self-taught and later took classes with great masters such as Kanna Nawashi, who he considers his main teacher and inspiration on Shibari. He also learned with Haruki Yukimura, Hajime Kink, Bob Ropemarks, Otonawa, and Bingo Shigonawa.

In 2015, Andrea, with 9 years of experience, decided to pursue a professional career in bondage, travelling around Italy and Europe, bringing his work as an educator and showman. Andrea’s style is one of great dynamism, artistic expressiveness, and cleanliness of the technique. He also stands out for his adaptability to the needs of the learners and for his meticulous care of the Shibari technique, especially regarding the tension in ropes. Andre is always learning and has continuous research on communication through the ropes, an essential principle of this discipline.

Andrea Has participated in several events around the world such as the London Festival of the Art of Japanese Rope Bondage, Tokyo Underground, Bound, Rope Summer School, Moscow Knot, Decadence Easter Party, Mondo Invertido, Lyon Shibari, Boundcon, ShibariCamp, Prague Shibari Fest, Rope Spirit, Kinbaku Lounge and more.
Andrea Ropes gives workshops, private lessons, Sushi classes, shows, performances, and private performances also are available for performing in shows, videos and photos shoots as a rigger.
