WykD Dave

Dave Rickman, known as WykD Dave is a United Kingdom based rope enthusiast. He teaches and performs Shibari internationally with her partner Clover. He started exploring bondage 22 years ago and was autodidact for the first 17 years. Then, he had a lesson with the Shibari master Osada Steve, which changed his way of tying.

Dave is a lover of Japanese style rope bondage. It is from that tradition that he developed his vision. Dave’s Shibari isn’t about the rope, but rather about the look in the eyes, the hopelessness, and the agony.

Dave is an international professional. He participates in and runs Shibari workshops and tutorials around the world. He mostly enjoys with great pleasure watching people get into Shibari and how they open their minds to what rope bondage can really be, and not just to see it as an act of restraint, but as a much deeper and personal connection, than any other BDSM technique.

WykD Dave has worked with great people, including celebrities, pop starts, porn stars, theater and film directors, and amazing models. He has exposed his work in movies, high fashion magazines, galleries and even in Paris Louvre Gallery.

Dave wanted to create a tying a style which fulfilled his desires for bondage, that could be beautiful and secure without sacrificing the flow and structure of bondages and  created WykD Method. WykD Method Shibari/kinbaku/bondage was born form his desire to create his personal style that could  honoured the aesthetic of the kinbaku of Nureki Chimuo and Nada Akira, while incorporates the strength and technical excellence of Akechi Denki.

Dave believes ” I don’t do rope, I do people, but I do them with rope” where the WykD Method takes the inspiration from the aesthetics of Great bakushi and great photography, in order to create a unique style of bondage which has behind the traditions and  the modern world of technical improvement and safety.
