This rope bondage workshop for beginners is perfect for everybody. If you have an interest in learning friction rope bondage and getting into the world of ropes, welcome!
The goal
This rope bondage workshop will give you the basics of rope bondage. This will get you to start practicing safely at home.
The instructors
To begin with, the instructors will be Avid and Avalanche. Avid has been practicing ropes since 2015: both tying others, and letting others tie him. He is a passionate educator who is willing to share his experience with new practitioners. Avalanche has had an involvement in the kink scene since 2018 and she is willing to welcome others into it. Her background as an engineer gives her a unique teaching style. Hers is a mixture of analysis and emotional touch. This combination is perfect for people taking their first steps into the world of friction rope bondage.
What you’ll learn in this rope bondage workshop for beginners
Furthermore, you will learn to identify the qualities of the various types of ropes used. You will gain an initial understanding of shoulders mobility, and of the purpose and function of frictions. As for the ties themselves, you will learn the following: Somerville bowline single column tie, the spiral futonmomo, and how to tie a reverse tension chest harness, and a double-column that will not collapse.
Is it safe?
One of the core values of rope bondage is responsibility. That is why in this rope bondage workshop for beginners you will learn to perform at least three different types of rope safety check-ins. In addition, you will learn to negotiate consent for sexual and non-sexual activities. And to always mantain an attitude of respect and care toward your partner(s). At the end of the workshop, you will be aware of all the physical and emotional safety precautions necessary for a fulfilling practice of rope bondage.

The rope bondage workshop for beginners will take place at Studio Friction in Denver, Colorado. It is a 4 session workshop we’ve scheduled on February 3rd, February 10th, February 17th, and February 24th. The price of the workshop is between $100 usd and $200 usd per tying partner.
