Bunny by Daniel Kok and Luke George
Bunny by Daniel Kok and Luke George is a bondage performance event. It explores desire, trust, consent, responsibility, spectatorship, sexuality and power. Daniel Kok and Luke George are the artists in charge of exploring the delicate rules of submission and domination. For this purpose, they tie each other, as well asaudience members.
Luke George grew up in Tasmania. Now, he lives between Melbourne and Brooklyn. He has performed across Australia, Europa and the USA. On the other hand, Daniel Kok is from Singapore. He has shown his choreographic work in different countries in Asia, Europe, Australia and Africa. Together, Luke and Daniel learned Shibari in Australia.
In their show, they want to unravel shared lines of connection, suspend tension and unleash collective desires. Therefore, for their performances they use macrame, Chinese Knots and Rope bondage. In this way, they weave together an interactive experience of collectivity. Luke and Daniel perform with naked torsos shinning. Then, they slowly and carefully bind each other in rope. They string themselves and audience members from the ceiling.
It is a 2 and a half-hour show where Daniel is the rigger and Luke is the bunny. As you can see, they are both male and gay. Bunny started with the basics on how to tie a knot. Later, they became aware of heightened sensuality and amplified attention to the body, to each rope, and each boundary. They found that people wanted to get tied up or wanted to see someone else getting tied up. Where the element of danger that comes into the room by crossing over audience boundaries provokes dire spectacle and a desire for intimacy. Bunny, has become a very popular and trendy show, where people love the interaction with the audience.
