Some People Never Change

Some people never change, I can assure you. The greedy will be greedy, the jealous will be jealous… You get the point. My wife, Sandy, and I confirmed this old lesson when we attended a Shibari workshop last summer.

We’ve been together for over ten years, and we both like bondage. Consequently, from time to time we take a workshop and have some sexy fun together. Now, the truth is we do it for fun, so, despite having taken all those workshops, we still have a basic skill level. And that’s fine by us.

Anyway, we were in this workshop where there was also a couple of showy people. Now, when I say “showy” what I mean is that they were extremely anxious to show the rest of us just how skilled they were. They always tried the most complicated knots. And they insisted on doing a suspension, even though the course program didn’t cover that.

While they were doing their extremely complicated suspension, I tied Sandy in a very basic way. Nevertheless, the chemistry among us was as good as ever. So, we were laughing and having a great time together. They, on the other hand, were getting upset with each other because their extremely complicated suspension was not working out the way it should. We had the time of our lives, while the showy couple had a miserable time.

So, when the exercise was over, the guy approached me and asked me —in a very commanding voice— to let me tie Sandy. In exchange, I could tie his girl. I refused. I may not be a very skilled rigger, but one thing I know: you don’t share your ropes, and you don’t change the lovely bottom with whom you’ve had so much fun all along, just because some jerk is green with envy. Some people never change.

This is our Shibari story.
