When in Japan
I always wanted to travel. If my feet spend too much time on the ground, I begin to feel sick. I swear it’s true! Anyway, since I was a teenager, I knew there was only one choice for me: flight attendant. Some friends have asked me why I didn’t choose to be a pilot. Well, let’s say that I have a better time being around people and having an occasional chat than breaking my head dealing with the weather, the air traffic, and the lack of fuel. But anyway, this is not the story of my life. Let me explain why I like to say “When in Japan”
Since I was a teenager, I also knew that I was definitely kink. I felt a natural attraction for fetishes and what others call “alternative” sexual practices. Among all the options, bondage was my favorite. I don’t know why. I think it’s because restraint is almost the exact opposite of flying.
The point is that I did some research and I found out that there was a whole tradition of bondage coming from Japan. In fact, it’s not necessarily bondage that I enjoy, but rather Shibari.
So, whenever we go to “the land of the rising sun”, I take the opportunity to dwell in the bondage circuit, which is full of talented professionals. I do a couple of scenes, and then I fly back, still feeling the touch of the rope in my skin, as I’m serving drinks and dealing with the passengers.
Flying has given me the opportunity to experience the real thing. Believe me, there’s nothing like doing Shibari in Japan. I know there are very well-versed riggers all over the world. But there is something unique about being there, in the country where it all started.
This is my Shibari story.
