Seattle Shibari
Seattle Shibari is a place that is dedicated to bringing safe, sensual, and beautiful Japanese Rope Bondage style to the Pacific Northwest. Seattle Shibari believes that there is something wonderful, evocative, and aesthetic about the combination of rope and the human form. Its founder is Jonathan, who is an international rope artist. He performs on stage, ties for collaborations, and teaches the art of Shibari and Kinbaku. Jonathan has been studying Shibari since 2011 and holds a teaching license from Hajime Kinoko.
Seattle Shibari’s mission is to help bring rope out of the shadows and into its rightful place as a legitimate art form. For that purpose, it offers Shibari lessons, workshops, photoshoots and live performances. You can book private, one on one, Shibari lessons, which is a fantastic way to learn. Jonathan leads the private Shibari lessons.
Seattle Shibari also offers Group Shibari Workshops with an inclusive and supportive learning environment. They like to keep the workshops small in order to assure individual feedback and quality instruction to every student. In Seattle Shibari, you will enjoy Jonathan’s teaching style, which is a unique blend of traditional Japanese pedagogy and modern Western instructional research. He combines decades of experience in both traditional Japanese art and professional presentations.
Seattle Shibari also collaborates with talented photographers and stunning models to produce compelling and beautiful images. You will be able to book your Shibari Photoshoot with Jonathan at the rope studio. If you are a model or photographer who wants to add some bondage to your portfolio you can also book a session with Jonathan. He has expense experience tying for photographers.
Seattle Shibari welcomes people of all genders, body types, and sexual orientations. Its goal is to create a low-key, relaxed and enjoyable learning experience.
