The Night Before a Shibari Scene
Shibari scenes are not a thing of the moment. They require thorough preparation. One of the most important parts of that preparation is the schedule for the night before a Shibari scene. Here are some great tips to get the best out of it.
The night before a Shibari scene you should have a light dinner. Whatever is in your stomach for the previous 24 hours will play either in favor or against your scene. And you don’t want to feel heavy and big if you’re going to get tied or suspended. On the other hand, you do need to have some food that provides you with enough energy for the scene. Discovering that you’re starving in the middle of a scene, when you’re all tied up, is definitely not a good idea. So, eat enough so that you won’t feel hungry the next day, but avoid feasting excessively.
All aspects of the scene should have been covered during the previous negotiation. If there are any pending issues, now is the time to settle them down for good. Do not, I repeat, do not begin a Shibari scene if there are still unclarified aspects that you still need to discuss.
Another important thing to do the night before is to go through a checking of all the safety measures involved. Make sure you have emergency scissors at hand, and that you and your partner share a keyword, in case something goes wrong. If you detect a muscular or nerve problem the night before, do not proceed with the scene. You should only go ahead if you’re in optimal conditions for the task.
Finally, try to have a nice sleep. You don’t want to be dizzy and slow at the moment of the rope game. Make sure you get a nice, repairing rest before the big moment.
