The Duchy

The Duchy is one of the oldest and friendliest places online to learn about rope bondage. Lazarus Redmayne founded it in 2000 for the joy of sharing this fun and exciting hobby that is rope bondage. The Duchy was a castle and dungeon themed site. However, in more recent years, it has turned to a more modern, clean and aesthetic style.

Lazarus is a Bondage lover, educator and practitioner who has been teaching around the world. He teaches workshops and private classes, as well as participating in different events, conventions and conferences. The Duchy is a safe place to learn rope bondage techniques. You will learn the basics of rope bondage, safety tips, how to choose a rope, basic knots, and more. It is also a site that takes very seriously the respect and consent in Rope Bondage or any other BDSM practice or Kink.

The Duchy has tutorials for beginners and for experienced players. You can get the membership or register for free at the site where you will have access to courses.

The courses you will find in The Duchy are modular courses intended to be 60-120 minutes on average. Some of the courses available in The Duchy are: “Safety”, where you will learn the risks and reduce them to zero, it is always important to understand the potential issues and have plans for how to address those issues. “Rope Bondage 101”, it is a course for anyone starting the journey in rope bondage, which includes beginners safety, core knots, two single-column ties, and two double column tie. “Rope Bondage 102”, this course picks off where the 101 leaves off and includes a simple waist harness, extended double column, handcuff knot, chest harness, and full torso harness.
