Shibari and Silence

Shibari and Silence

I hate noise. I mean, I really hate it. Worst thing about it is… I work in a big city. I have to. I’ve had a great career in advertising so far, and I shouldn’t complain. However, all the noise in the street just kills me. It gets worse on the subway, with all the echoes. And it doesn’t get better if I take my car. My husband and I live in an apartment. We’re saving money to buy a house, but, until that happens, we have to endure night after night of quarrels, crying babies, barking dogs, and such. I hate noise. I didn’t know about the link between Shibari and silence.

My husband is really nice to me. He has bought whatever gadget he thinks can help me with my problem. I have all kinds of earplugs, headsets, and such. They should work, at least one of them. The problem is that noise stresses me so much that I can’t stand still.

And that’s when Shibari comes into the picture.

My husband and I had already tried some sex toys and BDSM tools. We like to be imaginative and open-minded when it comes to bedroom activities. However, we had never tried Shibari. “If you want to stand still, why don’t you let me tie you?”, he asked. Of course, I could tell by the tone of his voice, that there was a benefit for him, too. He must have fantasized about keeping me restrained, but he had never told me.

I agreed, and let me tell you something: I’ve never regretted it. Getting all tied up and letting him do all the work is very relaxing in itself; I’m in charge of nothing and have to do nothing, so I can relax and let my mind wander. Then, he places the earplugs or a headset, and gives me all the time I ask to enjoy the silence. After an hour or so, he unties me, and we’re both happy. (Sometimes, we end up in bed).

Shibari and silence go well together. Trust me.

This is our Shibari story.
