Aaron Mcpolin
Aaron Mcpolin is a fashion and beauty photographer. He admires the human body and likes to study the world of taboo. Therefore, he explores the world with his eyes wide open and his camera always nearby. This way, he can capture perfect moments of the human body.
Aaron grew up in Manchester, England, and moved to Perth, Australia, at the age of 17. Then, he discovered that photography was his passion. Throughout photography, he can explore and represent other peoples idea’s much more strongly than through any other means.
Aaron’s observation of humanity often leads him down into deeper techniques and practices. While he was in the search for new experiences, he found Shibari. For him, bondage is an opportunity to share with the community the taboo that our culture harbours towards anything different. With Shibari, he found a way where he could push the general ideas of what people personally find acceptable, by braking people barriers, and help them accept integration of different and new things to people.
Aaron McPolin has a fascination with Shibari and the dedication, skills and talent involved in the erotic art of rope bondage. He enjoys the provocative, yet aesthetic practice that shares intimacy and trust in a delicate and ceremonial process. Aaron connects with Paul Kabzinski, a Shibari Artis and teacher, who guided Aaron and his team into the journey of Shibari.
Aaron’s series of photography ” A tender dissolution” showed Shibari in a pure form with fully naked models, shot in a delicate light. This way, he underlines the connection between flesh and rope, with beautiful flowers reinforcing the sensation of purity and weightlessness.
“A tender dissolution” is a beautiful series of photography that wants to show people the art of Shibari and to feel comfortable with accepting something different that is beautiful.
