Studio Kokoro
Studio Kokoro is a Kinbaku and Shibari place devoted to share the passion of Rope Bondage, its history and culture in London. The Studio’s mission is to promote and spread the love rope between people to build a community which embraces all the rope bondage lovers.
Studio Kokoro is a unique space with its own personality to practice Shibari. The name, Studio Kokoro, was a dedicated choice, in which Nada Akira and Sugiura Nora help us determine the correct name that transmitted the idea of what they wanted to share in the studio. Kokoro comes from the Japanese word that means “heart”,”mind”,”emotion”,”spirit”,”soul”, which fits the feeling of the studio, that once was a dream that became a reality.
Studio Kokoro is an inclusive place that welcomes every individual regarding ethnicity, gender, identity and expression, sexual orientation, body size, disabilities, physical appearance, age, kink, personal space or any label identity presentation preference. It is a must to treat everyone with respect and courtesy while in the studio and its surroundings. Everyone is welcome. However, harassment or any aggressive behaviour are not allowed.
In the studio, consent is mandatory, just as in any BDSM practice. Consent is what separates what we do from abuse. Therefore, the studio uses a RACK consent model, which means a Risk Aware Consensual Kink. It is a must to always ask first before touching anyone or anyone’s rope belongings.
Studio Kokoro has just celebrated its tenth year anniversary and released a photo book that contains the most important sessions over the past 10 years, where you will find 228 pages of the most significant images of the studio throughout that time.
Although right the studio not operating due to Covid-19, they are imparting online classes and events.
