Rope Practice or Rope Lab

Rope Practice or Rope Lab

Shibari is an ancient form of artistic Japanese rope bondage. It is a modern practice that involves tying people with rope. Shibari has evolved into many different branches and practices and has become something that people can use for artistic expression or self-care. Rope Practice or Rope Lab has become very popular in the last years, where people gather together to learn, experience and practice rope. It is a class, imparted by a teacher. However, it can also be a gathering between rope lovers to share their experience and practice.

The term Rope lab has become popular lately, it is the new name to rope practice, but seen in a little more scientific way. Both rope lab and rope practice include testing, sharing and practicing. Topics may include different ways of doing a tie, working out aesthetics, working on how to make the intended function happen, which knots are better for each occasion, and more.

In these workshops, you will tie and re-tie many times, focused on a particular problem. Maybe you will tie and re-tie only to get things into the muscle memory, like it always said, practice is what makes the masters. During a rope lab feedback is required, the more feedback you have from your partner the more you will learn and the more you will improve. It is important to know how comfortable the bottom is if they have any “bad feelings” or any complications in order to have complete knowledge of what you are doing.

Rope practice and Rope lab can be very sexy, but these sessions usually focus more on the techniques on the scene, the safety and learning and perfecting everything they do. Practice and practise until you get perfection, practice to learn and practice to be the best.
