Shibari Showed Me Who I Could Trust
Fear has always been there my whole life. I mean it. Since I was a kid, I’ve been afraid of a hundred things, from riding an elevator to travelling by plane, and from eating something unusual to going to the dentist. In other words, there are many things that scare me. And now I want to tell you how Shibari showed me who I could trust.
Nowadays, many people talk about fear. That is, many men and women who had never had trouble coping with fear are now showing anxiety symptoms. It’s not nice, and many people are having a bad time. That’s why I want to tell you something about it.
The most important thing to do to overcome fear is to find someone you can trust. Someone who will listen to you, who will give you a hug when you need it, and who will share your emotions without denying them, or making fun of your problem.
It’s not easy to find someone like that. Most people rely on a relative or a friend for this delicate role. And there are beautiful stories about supportive brothers, sisters, parents, and high school friends who have helped others overcome their issues.
In my case, it was Shibari that showed me who I could really trust.
You see, when you’re doing a scene and you’re getting tied up, you’re quite vulnerable. You can’t move, and your safety depends on the skill and care of the person tying you up.
At first, it sounds like a nightmare for someone with anxiety issues, like me. However, when you realize how much the other person cares for you and how hard they try to keep you safe and make you enjoy the scene, you become very grateful toward them.
My partner has been my rigger for over two years now. I trust him completely, and I’m glad he’s part of my life. I know he will always be there for me, and that scares the ghosts away.
Who knows? Maybe the person you need is at the end of the ropes. As for me, Shibari showed me who I could trust.
