Shibari Folk Tale
Hi! I found this Shibari folk tale in a book, and I’d like to share it with you:
“This is the story of the boy Kinoko (mushroom). They nicknamed him that way because he was very short. Kinoko’s mother, Yuri (Lily), was a young widow, for Kinoko’s father had died on the battlefield. Yuri was very beautiful, but she would dismiss all the men interested in her because her love for Kinoko’s father still burned within her.
Ken (sword), a ruthless soldier, had a passion for Yuri. Many villagers thought he had killed Yuri’s husband in order to possess his wife. But no one dared say a word, because they feared Ken. He wanted to take Yuri to his bed, but she rejected him. And he didn’t take it well. Actually, he was furious at her rejection.
Yuri’s harvest got mysteriously ruined overnight. And this produced a terrible situation for her and her son. Ken agreed to pay all her debts. But, in exchange, he demanded that Yuri allowed to play bottom for him. Thus, Ken came frequently to the house to tie Yuri. This would excite him greatly, but he didn’t take Yuri by force because he didn’t want to have her unwillingly.
Kinoko used to watch how Ken tied his mother. It would make him very angry. But his mother would beg him not to show his anger, for they would starve if Ken didn’t help them.
Many years later, Kinoko had become captain Kinoko. Even though he was still very short, everybody respected him, because he was a brave soldier.
One night, captain Kinoko broke the door of the house of an old man. Then, he tied the old man, making him suffer. Finally, he let him hang upside down. When the old man was almost dead, he said, “This is Kinoko’s revenge, for I am not a mushroom anymore”. Then he cut the ropes, and the blind man fell to the floor and died”.
This is the Shibari folk tale I wanted to share with you.
