Shibari is a traditional Japanese practice that has evolved time. It enters the Bondage category in BDSM practices, which means restriction of movement. The main tool for Shibari are the natural fibre ropes. This leads to an emotional, psychological and physical connection between people. Shibari is a body art. It is visually beautiful, allows for meditation, communication, healing abilities and connection between partners. You can practice individually, as a couple or even in groups. Shibari Mexico is a community of people who are rope passionates and practitioners. Blue is a 29-year-old human who has practised Shibari for years. She has practiced and performed in the deserts of Nevada, travelled around Asia and finally found a home in Mexico where she founded Shibari Mexico. Her goal is to create and share safe, welcoming and inclusive spaces for all people who want to learn and experience the art of Shibari.
Shibari Mexico was born when Blue arrived in Mexico and couldn’t find a rope community or a space where she felt safe practicing. Consequently, she decided to create the perfect Shibari space for all the rope lovers and practitioners. It started as a small group and now consists of a big community of rope passionates, every day the rope bondage community in Mexico grows a little more and makes Mexico more rope friendly and educated about alternative practices, egotisms and BDSM.
In Shibari Mexico, you will find classes, workshops, private sessions, gatherings, performances and events. The workshops last 16 hours and take 4 weeks. The first level workshop is Ichinawa, Level 2 is Flow, Level 3 is Fusion, and the last one is Private. The last workshop lasts 3 hours and is personalized to your experience and needs.
