Unforgettable Shibari
You’ve probably seen the “Arch at Land’s End” in Cabo San Lucas. If you haven’t, you can Google it, and you’ll see why it is so famous. Now, I’m a model, and I’ve done dozens of photo shoots, several of them at Los Cabos, but there is one unforgettable Shibari scene I took part in there, about which I’d like to tell you the story.
As you may suppose, it is illegal to be in the actual arch. You can’t set foot there. That’s one of the ways local authorities protect the arch from deteriorating. That’s why when a photo crew approached me with the idea of doing a Shibari scene at the arch, my first reaction was skepticism. I thought the photographer wanted to hit on me, and he had come up with this weird idea.
It turned out they were serious. They knew it was illegal. That’s why they wanted to do it at night. The plan was to go there on a couple of boats. Then, a Shibari master they had contacted would set up a sort of spider’s web in the arch, and I would be tied in the middle of it. I would be characterized as a mermaid. The pictures would take advantage of the moonlight. The photographer had the idea when he was a teenager, and his parents took him to Los Cabos to see the whales.
Believe it or not, we did it. And I must say it’s the most beautiful scene I’ve ever done. I was in tears by the time we finished. Luckily for us, the police didn’t catch us. The following day, we took a plane back to the US, just in case anyone had seen us.
Now, I have some of the most beautiful pictures I’ve ever taken hidden in a drawer. We agreed not to show them to anybody for at least ten years, to avoid legal consequences for what we did.
But one day, I’ll show them to you, I promise.
This is the story of my unforgettable Shibari.
