Fred Hatt
Fred Hatt is a shibari artist who is based in London, England. He is also the owner and founder of Anatomie Studio. Located in Peacham, many consider Anatomie Studio to be the first actual shibari studio in the UK. This studio is more of a school than anything else. It is devoted to the art of learning shibari, aka Japanese Rope Bondage or Kinbaku. The studio also hosts a couple of events like rope jams, regular classes and private sessions. Fred Hatt is also a skilled photographer and loves to host shibari shoots at his studio.
His passion has led him to collaborate in shoots for music videos, editorials, fashion and live performances. Always with a line of vision that surrounds the conceptual and creative part of shibari in his projects. Fred is the proud owner of Anatomie Studio. He is regularly present teaching the arts of shibari in a style that many recognize as passionate. The word out speaks of his workshops as extremely detailed and approachable at the same time, making his lessons easy-going and inviting. Fred is a studied man and has spent most of his time doing research and learning the art of Japanese Bondage with a key mission that is to deliver serious training and the love for the rope and art.
Hatt has been fortunate enough to have the time and curiosity to understand how ropes work and to learn the most common and advances shibari techniques that are out there. He has also deep knowledge of how body mechanics works and how does science work in combination with ropes, bodies and mind. Fred has been tying since 2013 and is found regularly teaching or performing in and out of the UK.
