Raw Sensation

Raw Sensation

Shibari can be artistic, intensely emotional, even traditional. However, I am a man of raw sensation, and what I like about Shibari is the friction, the restraint, the pain, and the marks. Hey! Don’t look at me like that! After all, in the beginning, Shibari was a way of torture, called hojojutsu.

I like pain. Nowadays, people are more open-minded about each individual’s preferences. However, for years I’ve had to hide this weird taste of mine. Being a man only made it more difficult. It is funny how most people won’t even blink at the idea of a man who likes to inflict pain, but will react with disgust when the same man says he likes to feel pain on his own skin.

That’s when I discovered Shibari. More importantly, that’s when I discovered Sheila. She’s a rigger in her own right, and she immediately understood what I wanted to do and why. She was professional. She never hesitated. More importantly, she knew exactly just how far I wanted to go. And when she untied me, I thanked her with a big hug, and we spent almost an hour watching the rope marks across my skin.

Sheila is my friend, and when we meet outside the studio we chat and have fun. However, when we’re in a scene, she knows I mean business. And she has never let me down. She’s very well trained in traditional Japanese Shibari. She even knows a few tricks of the original Hojojutsu. She is capable of always surprising me and always taking me a little bit further from where I thought I could go.

Some like things raw and strong. I’m one of those. And I’m glad that there are now ways for us to feel satisfied. The raw sensation of Shibari is exactly what I had been looking for.

This is my Shibari story.
