Forgotten Body

Forgotten Body

It was Shibari who helped me recover my forgotten body. You may be wondering what I mean by that. Well, it’s easy. When was the last time you felt your toes? Can you tell the shape and size of your kneecaps? That’s what I mean when I say forgotten body: all the body parts that we have neglected because we only pay attention to the same dozen parts (the hands, the mouth, and so on).

Now, when you’re playing bottom in a Shibari scene, you can either feel a tremendous boredm, become apprehensive because of the restraint, or reconcile yourself with all the parts of your body that you have neglected. That’s what I do. During the long periods that I’m sitting all tied up and almost motionless, I become aware of every inch of my body. It’s as if I had never known it before, as if I were taking possession of it right there and then. It’s like being born again, believe me.

Perhaps some of you, especially those who haven’t tried Shibari, will find my claims exaggerated. That’s alright; don’t believe me. Just ask anyone who really enjoys playing bunny, and they will tell you the same. It’s not like I invented Shibari.

You have no idea of the richness of sensations hidden within your body. Try it; you won’t regret it. Just pass a rope between your toes after taking a shower, and you’ll see what I mean. Or, if you want something more spicy, pass a rope over one of your nipples, and you’ll understand just how little you know about your own body.

Play with your elbows, your ears, and your ribs. Become aware of all those second-class parts of your body and treat them as well as they deserve. It will be an unforgettable experience, I promise.

This is my Shibari story.
